VPRS 6811 Daily Drill Reports, Wonthaggi Mine

This series comprises the Secretary of Mines' carbon copies of Daily Drill Reports from the State Coal Mine at Wonthaggi.Each Bundle of Daily Drill Reports documented the progress of a particular drill used at the Coal Mine throughout a calendar year. The Reports, compiled by one of the foremen on duty (shift work), recorded in a column-format both tabular and general information on the daily mining operations. The type of details recorded include: Drill No.; Foreman; Bore No.; General Locality; Shifts/Foreman in Charge; Amount bored in 24 hours; Strata Passed Through (ft. in.); Remarks (Cause of any delay, etc).Further drill reports can be found in VPRS 10034 Mine Manager's Files and Miscellaneous Records.
