Cronobacter spp. associated with dairy farm systems show diverse genotypes

Cronobacter spp. is a burgeoning food-borne pathogenic microorganism. Currently, there are many reports on the prevalence of Cronobacter spp. in formula milk and its processing environment, while few studies on the prevalence of Cronobacter spp. in dairy farm. Therefore, we undertaken to investigate and track genomic epidemiology of Cronobacter spp. isolates from dairy farm. In this study, 40 Cronobacter spp. isolates obtained from 1115 different dairy farm samples (raw milk, ensilage, bedding and feces) were identified by phenotypic and genotypic methods.
