Supplementary data for the presence of metabolically relevant genes.

Identifications of relevant metabolically relevant genes in other organisms was performed with tblastx against the NCBI NT database (downloaded on 29.04.2020), with an evalue of 0.0001 and the option –max_target_seqs 1000000. For the operons three operons, the whole operon was used for the tblastx search, and presence of an operon was evaluated with a custom script by inspecting the co-occurrence of the genes within a range of 20.000 bp to each other. A gene was considered present if 25% of its basepairs had a match in the target genome. For all other genes, the coding sequence of the gene was used for the tblastx search.This repository contains the result of the blast searches of all these genes/operons, as well as the python code which was used to evalute their presence/absence.
