Illumina HiSeq sequencing of whole genomic libraries was performed on three North American species of Astragalus (A. agnicidus, A. flexuosus, and A. mollissimus) to develop genomic resources for Neo-Astragalus, the New World Clade of Astragalus (Fabaceae). These include chloroplast genome and nuclear ribosomal cistron sequences as well assemblies of the nuclear genome to aid in the selection of low-copy nuclear loci for future target-capture sequencing.
