Mexico: money laundering cases and convictions 2018-2019

The number of money laundering offenses brought before Mexican courts increased two-fold between 2018 and 2019. A total of 164 money laundering lawsuits were filled in 2019, compared to the 82 criminal proceedings initiated a year before. Following the same trend, the number of guilty verdicts grew exponentially in the same period, from six convictions in 2018 to 84 in 2019. Even so, Mexico is one of the Latin American countries with the lowest risk of money laundering and terrorist financing.

2018年至2019年间，提交至墨西哥法院的洗钱犯罪案件数量翻倍增长。2019年共提起164起洗钱诉讼，相较于前一年的82起刑事案件，增幅显著。遵循此趋势，同期内定罪判决的数量也呈指数级增长，从2018年的六项增至2019年的84项。即便如此，墨西哥仍是拉丁美洲国家中洗钱和恐怖主义融资风险最低的国家之一。
