Circadian rhythms are of important consequences for human health. Misalignment between the endogenous circadian timing system and daily rhythms might be an important contributor to the development of a wide variety of diseases. In this study, the rhythmicity of genes in hypothalamic and hepatic transcriptomes and the relationships of rhythm genes with diseases in seventy-two normal six-week-old male Sprague-Dawley rats were assessed. Our results provide a possible etiological basis for studying the pathogenesis of multiple diseases, especially cancers.
