Self-employed start-ups; career

This table contains figures on the careers of self-employed start-ups in the Netherlands. This concerns all persons aged 15 or over who start as self-employed in a year. The data can be broken down by sex, type of self-employment (in the start year), socio-economic position after 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 years respectively (the year under consideration), the industry (SBI 2008) in which one starts and the personal characteristics of age and position in the household. Data available from: 2012 Status of the figures: The figures in this table are final. Amendments as of 15 December 2023: The figures relating to the socio-economic position in 2021 have been added to this table.This means that for the start-ups of 2020 the social economic position is now known after 1 year, for the start-ups of 2019 the socio-economic position after 2 years, for the start-ups of 2018 the socio-economic position after 3 years, etc. Changes as of 25 August 2023: The figures on the socio-economic position in a reference year have been corrected for the 2012 and 2014 reporting years. Due to an error in running the software in the previous version of this table, the figures on start-ups who were no longer self-employed in the relevant reference year were not always in the correct new position. This has now been corrected. Amendments as of 23 December 2022: The figures relating to the socio-economic position in 2020 have been added to this table.This means that for the start-ups of 2019 the social economic position is now known after 1 year, for the start-ups of 2018 the socio-economic position after 2 years, for the start-ups of 2017 the socio-economic position after 3 years, etc. When will there be new figures? The figures on the socio-economic position in 2022 will be published in December 2024.
