Floodplain (EEA)

Floodplains are areas flooded in the event of floods of an above-ground water. The SEA is determined on the basis of different criteria (Water Act § 65). Defined floodplains shall be considered without further fixing: — Areas between above-ground waters and dams or high banks, — Areas where a flood event is statistically expected once in 100 years, and — Areas claimed on the basis of a plan determination or plan approval for flood relief or retention. Furthermore, SSGs may be defined by statutory ordinances. The use in the ÜSG is restricted by water law requirements (Water Budget Act § 78 and § 78 a+c).
