Data and Code for: Pace-Standardized Lifespan (PSL) in Mammals (n=28)

This deposition provides data and code for an earlier exploratory analysis of mammalian pace-standardized lifespan (PSL, n=28 taxa). It is retained here as a provenance snapshot of the earlier project stage. The version below is v3, which superseded earlier internal versions (v1 and v2) by resolving minor path inconsistencies and ensuring compatibility between the scripts and the manuscript figures of that earlier stage. 1) Statistical analysis package (PSL_Analysis_v3.zip) Contents: Core input data and R scripts for OLS and PGLS models evaluated across 100 posterior mammalian trees. To reproduce: run source("run_all.R") in R, or Rscript run_all.R from the terminal. Outputs are written to the /results folder, with session information (including package versions) saved to /docs/sessionInfo.txt. This package focused on the core statistical outputs reported at that earlier project stage (e.g. slope, confidence interval, and R²). 2) Figure generation package (PSL_Figure_v3.zip) Contents: Python scripts (make_fig1.py – make_fig3.py), figure-specific Excel workbooks, and documentation. To reproduce on Windows: double-click RUN_FIGURES_WINDOWS.bat. Figures are written to /figures as Figure1.pdf, Figure2.pdf, and Figure3.pdf. Note that some intermediate variable names used in the earlier workbooks (e.g. “E” in the main workbook, “LEP” in the ANOVA workbook) correspond to the PSL quantity used at that earlier stage. This record is retained as a provenance snapshot. The project has since been expanded to a 953-species canonical dataset with a 901-species tree-matched PGLS inference.
