Pasteurella multocida, often causes diseases in livestock. There are 5 capsular serotypes of A, B, D, E and F, of which serotypes A mainly causes respiratory-related diseases, such as pneumonia in cattle. Virulence genes play an important role in the pathogenicity of bacteria. Compared with the parent strain PmCQ2, the pm0442 gene deleted strain PmCQ2-0442 was significantly downregulated in toxicity. And the virulence mechanism of Pm0442 gene was studied by transcriptomics.
