PCR amplification of prokaryotic and eukaryotic ribosomal small subunits. Sequence data were generated by Roche 454 pyrosequencing. Adult weta were collected from Auckland. Insects were dissected and the entire gut homogenised by mortar and pestle under liquid nitrogen.
