Dataset - Inventory of heritage preservation research projects combining AI and public participation

This is an open dataset developed by Web2Learn within the framework of the AISTER project (2024-2-LU01-KA220-HED-000290738). It includes an international landscape analysis of 22 research projects that combine artificial intelligence and citizen participation for cultural heritage preservation in emergency contexts. The dataset is designated as an open-source resource for digital humanities research, freely available for reproduction or reuse by scholars, students, and teachers. It is also free for creative reuses. The dataset is structured across 24 categorisation fields, incorporating established typologies (e.g., citizen participation by Shirk et al.) alongside project-specific dimensions, including participation models, cooperation types, applied AI technologies and AI ethics. It has been processed through data cleaning, transformation into machine-actionable formats, enrichment with calculated variables, and analytical structuring.
