A Mixed Methods Approach to Examining Impacts of the Agency Changes on Employability of Chinese Graduates from Australian Universities

This research investigates how Chinese international graduates from Australian universities transform their educational experiences into employability outcomes through the exercise of agency. Drawing on Bandura’s social cognitive theory and Tomlinson’s graduate capital model, the study used a mixed-methods design to reveal that educational experiences alone do not guarantee employability capital. Rather, agency plays an important role in selectively reshaping and integrating these experiences. These insights can inform policies and institutional support services aimed at improving graduate employability in cross-cultural contexts.
