Microbiome of allogeneic transplant mice treated with human beta-defensin 2 (hBD-2)

BALB/c recipient mice were lethally irradiated followed by transplantation of allogeneic C57BL/6 BM cells and allogeneic splenic C57BL/6 CD4/CD8 T cells. Recipient mice were treated with 1.2 mg/kg human beta-defensin 2 (hBD-2) or vehicle (PBS) once daily from day 0 until day 10 (n=15 mice per treatment group). Stool samples were collected on day 8 or 10 post allogeneic transplantation. DNA was extracted from the stool samples with mechanical bead beating, libraries were prepared with the Illumina Nextera XT kit and sequencing was performed on an Illumina HiSeq 4000.
