Enzymatic depletion ofl‐Met using an engineered human enzyme as a novel therapeutic strategy for melanoma

Many cancers, including melanoma, have a higher requirement forl‐methionine in comparison with noncancerous cells. In this study, we use a multiomics approach to show that administration of an engineered human methionine‐γ‐lyase (hMGL) significantly reduced the survival of both human and mouse melanoma cells in vitro. Six independent cell cultures of ATCC melanoma cell line A375 were prepared, three treated with hMGL for 24 h ("Treated") and the other three left untreated ("Control").
