Database of Probiotics Culture Medium (DPCM)

The primary objective of this database is to explore the prediction of novel independent biological culture media based on the Probiotic Culture Media Database (DPCM). In this study, we systematically collected existing culture media formulations from authoritative resources such as ATCC to establish the DPCM database. Following strain isolation and purification, we extracted genomic DNA and performed PCR amplification coupled with 16S rDNA sequencing. Subsequent bioinformatic analysis of the 16S rDNA sequences enabled comprehensive database construction. Using this methodological framework, we successfully predicted suitable culture media formulations for several previously uncharacterized microbial strains. Through extensive experimental validation, we have demonstrated the significant practical application value of this database in facilitating the development of optimized culture conditions for diverse microbial species.
