Hybrid Input-Output calibration database for the French MatMat model: SNAC-S-based GHG emissions and raw material consumption-based assessment (2015–2019)

Overview The dataset constitutes the calibration database used to build the French hybrid EEIO model implemented in MatMat for the assessment of greenhouse gas emissions and raw material footprints. The database is primarily based on EXIOBASE 3.8.2 and associated environmental extensions, including energy flows and combustion-related greenhouse gas emissions derived from the International Energy Agency (IEA) World Energy Balances. Due to licensing restrictions associated with IEA data, the full database cannot be redistributed publicly. Metadata and documentation are publicly available, while access to restricted files may be granted upon request and subject to the applicable licensing conditions and authorisations. The calibration database combines monetary input-output accounts with physical flow information and includes: Detailed raw and base material flows, including primary and secondary material flows Energy flows by product and industry together with associated combustion emissions Gross fixed capital formation matrice used for the endogenisation of capital accumulation in prospective environmental assessments Greenhouse gas emission and raw material extraction extensions The database was developed to support the construction of hybrid environmentally-extended input-output models and prospective scenario analyses conducted with MatMat for France. Detailed methodological descriptions, calibration procedures, data sources and modelling assumptions are documented in the scientific publications, reports and software references listed in the "Related Works" section below. Data provenance and licensing restrictions This dataset is a derived calibration database built from the EXIOBASE v3.8.2 multi-regional input-output database and additional environmental extensions using the MatMat modelling framework. The dataset does not contain the original EXIOBASE tables and cannot be used to reconstruct, reproduce or substitute the EXIOBASE database. Some components of the calibration database rely on data sources subject to third-party licensing restrictions, including the International Energy Agency (IEA) World Energy Balances integrated within EXIOBASE. Consequently, access to the dataset files is restricted. Where access is granted, users must comply with the licensing conditions associated with the original data providers. In particular, the dataset is intended for research and non-commercial purposes only. Users must cite both this dataset and the original EXIOBASE database and associated reference publications when using the data in scientific work.
