Corpus Sinner–Meloni (January 2024–July 2025): Media and political discourses on Jannik Sinner in Italy

<b>The case Jannik Sinner: populist co-optation and media discourses</b>The aim of this research is to analyse the “Sinner-Meloni case” through the key concepts of sports sociology and political-media discourse analysis: populism, cultural hegemony, soft power, hegemonic masculinity, and symbolic nationalism. More than 90 journalistic sources collected from Sinner’s Australian Open victory on January 28, 2024, until his defeat at home against Carlos Alcaraz at the Italian Open final on May 18, 2025, will be integrated.
