Data for "Completing the Baroclinic Wave Lifecycle through the Annular Modes"

This repository contains a jupyter python notebook and associated *.npz files to reproduce figures and analysis from "Completing the Baroclinic Wave Lifecycle through the Annular Modes" by J. Michael Battalio et al. Contained in the reponsitory are: "transient_BAM_published.ipynb", "tpdaily.npz" (daily precipitation), "evapdaily.npz" (daily evaporation), "EKEZonalStardaily.npz" (daily zonal-perturbation eddy kinetic energy), "EKEZonaldaily.npz" (daily transient-perturbation eddy kinetic energy), "hozHeatStarZonaldaily.npz" (daily zonal-perturbation eddy horizontal heat flux), "hozMomStarZonaldaily.npz" (daily zonal-perturbation eddy horizontal momentum flux), "uZonaldaily.npz", "hozHeatFluxZonaldaily.npz" (daily transient-perturbation eddy horizontal heat flux), "hozMomFluxZonaldaily.npz" (daily transient-perturbation eddy horizontal momentum heat flux). The pre-processed data are all calculated from ERA5 [Hersbach, H et al. (2023). ERA5 hourly data on pressure levels from 1940 to present.
