Interior of Hindu Temple, Gayatri Gyan Mandir, 2046 West Devon Avenue, Chicago, Illinois. 21 July 2002. 10am. There are seven men, women and children seated on the floor. They are attending a religious service conducted by Kusum Patel. The Gayatri Gyan Mandir, Pragya Yug Literature Center, is devided into two parts. The front of the temple is a bookstore, and the rear is a temple where religious services are held. The two women in the photograph are wearing saris, and one holds a young child on her lap. Both women have a Tilak, (red spot in center of forehead). The men are dressed in western shirts, and one is holding a young child on his lap.
