资源简介:
This dataset contains RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) data from human conditionally immortalized proximal tubule epithelial cells (ciPTEC-OAT1) exposed to microbiota-derived short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs): acetate, propionate, and butyrate. Cells were treated individually or in combination with 1 mM of each SCFA for 24 hours under 2D culture conditions. The aim was to investigate the transcriptomic changes underlying SCFA-mediated modulation of renal secretory function, particularly the expression and activity of the organic anion transporter 1 (OAT1/SLC22A6).
The data were generated as part of a study exploring the epigenetic and signaling mechanisms (e.g., HDAC inhibition, cAMP and PI3K-Akt pathway activation) through which SCFAs influence kidney tubular transporter expression. The results support a role for SCFAs in enhancing renal excretory function, with potential implications for nutritional interventions in chronic kidney disease (CKD) management.
