Product Empreinte Urban 2013

The product “Global Urban Empreinte (GUF)” maps built urban areas. Human-built surfaces with vertical constructions are defined as built areas. Roads are not taken into account. To produce the global urban footprint layer, 180,000 images of the TerraSAR-X and TanDEM-X radar satellites were processed. The product “Urban Empreinte” is a binary urban/non-urban layer provided by the German Space Agency (DLR) in raster format with a spatial resolution of about 12 m. This sheet gives you access to WMS feeds and download links to the DLR website.
