Modelling data for the manuscript "REMO2020: a modernized modular regional climate model"

This dataset is the model data used in manuscript "REMO2020: a modernized modular regional climate model". It includes model data on NetCDF format and details will be explained below. Simulation raw data: remo_results_036005.tar.gz includes monthly mean files for year 2005. Only aerosol optical depth is available and this simulation can be concidered an extra simulation, which is only used to show the Tanre aerosol climatology. remo_results_036030.tar.gz includes monthly mean files for years 2001-2010. This simulation is the default configuration using 27 vertical levels. The NetCDF files only include the variables used in the analysis (for more information, please check the attributes) remo_results_036031.tar.gz is like 036030, but it uses only shallow convection (not full-convection). remo_results_036032.tar.gz is like 036030, but it uses 49 vertical levels. This simulation is the default configuration for 49 levels. remo_results_036033.tar.gz is like 036032, but it does not use the prognostic precipitation approach. remo_results_036034.tar.gz is like 036032, but it uses the MERRA-2 aerosol climatology. remo_results_036036.tar.gz is like 036032, but it uses the Smolarkiewitz horizontal advection. remo_results_036037.tar.gz is like 036032, but it uses only shallow convection (not full-convection). remo_results_036039.tar.gz is like 036032, but it uses the dynamical vegetation module iMOVE. remo_results_056524.tar.gz includes monthly mean files for years 2001-2010. This simulation is the REMO2015, an older version of the REMO model. Simulation post-processed data: calipso.tar.gz includes monthly mean cloud fractional cover for years 2001-2010 for different CALIPSO height levels. The data is only for simulation 036030, 036032 and 056524. clwc.tar.gz includes monthly mean cloud liquid water content for years 2001-2010 for different CALIPSO height levels. The data is only for simulation 036030, 036032 and 056524. iwc.tar.gz includes monthly mean cloud ice water content for years 2001-2010 for different CALIPSO height levels. The data is only for simulation 036030, 036032 and 056524. histogram.tar.gz includes the binned precipitation hits from hourly data for year 2001-2010. There are two different filenames: 1) RADKLIM for only Germany and 2) prudence for different Prudence regions. The data is only for simulations 036030, 036031, 036032, 036033, 036036, 036037 and 056524. REMO specific static files: FLake_input.tar.gz includes the lake fraction file. REMO_static.tar.gz includes REMO's land-seas mask (BLA) and surface orography (FIB).
