资源简介:
The Galapagos Islands are recognized for their high endemism. However, currently, there is great anthropogenic pressure on the Galapagos fauna as a result there has been a decrease in the size of the populations of many endemic birds. There is a pressing need for high-resolution genetic conservation studies of threatened species. An important endemic bird is the Galapagos vermilion flycatcher, which used to inhabit most of the Galapagos archipelago (12 islands) but has recently disappeared from four islands and is about to disappear from three more. The objective of this study is to assemble the complete genome of Pyrocephalus nanus as a tool to guide research and management of this species. Additionally, the genome should be a useful resource for studies of the larger bird family Tyrannidae, which includes Pyrocephalus, where there are currently few genomic resources.
