Systemic administration of young mice plasma (YMP) in aged mice exhibits positive intervention effects on reversing age-associated cognitive decline and rejuvenating the aged brain. However, the underlying mechanism remains unclear.Here, we show that systemic administration of YMP inhibits neuroinflammation and improves cognitive function in aged mice. Notably, pharmacological depletion of microglia in aged mice attenuates the cognitive benefits induced by YMP, indicating a crucial involvement of microglia in the therapeutic effects of YMP.
