Ageing and Technology Futures: Older Adults’ and Industry Visions

My PhD thesis investigates how Ageing-Technology (AgeTech) industry actors and older people envision older adults’ future lives with technology. While AgeTech industry actors often frame the future of ageing via technology, older people envision their lives in more nuanced ways. I discuss how older adults' trust is essential to imagine AgeTech futures. I also explore how AgeTech breaks and the need to repair them. I also examine how older adults' fall risks are articulated in future AgeTech. My research includes a review of 49 industry reports, interviews with 29 AgeTech industry experts, and video-ethnographic household visits with 25 older adults.
