Many amphibian population declines and extinctions around the world have been attributed to the chytrid fungus, Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis (Bd). In order to understand why some populations did not succumb to the pathogen despite being infected, we studied two sympatric species of frogs from the Colombian Andes, which have coexisted with Bd for at least a decade, without apparent signs of decline.
