STRUCTURAL-SEMANTICAL FEATURES AND TRANSLATION PROBLEMS OF MEDICAL TERMS IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK LANGUAGES

Medical terminology plays a crucial role in professional communication, scientific research, and healthcare in the rapidly developing modern era. This study analyzes the structural and semantic characteristics of medical terms in Uzbek and English, as well as the translation challenges that arise in cross-linguistic medical communication. The research draws on theories of terminology, linguistics, and translation studies. Comparative and semantic analysis methods were used to identify similarities and differences between English and Uzbek medical terms. The results show that many medical terms are based on Greek and Latin elements, while Uzbek medical terminology has developed through a combination of international borrowings and national lexical resources, which can create specific translation difficulties.
