Groundwater protection zones

The protection zones around the drinking water extractions (Aalsterweg/Klotputten and Welschap) in Eindhoven are part of this data. These are laid down in the Provincial Environmental Ordinance (PMV). The PMV lays down conditions for working within protection zones. These conditions aim to protect drinking water extraction against potential contaminants. There are three different zones: water extraction areas, 25-year zone and drilling-free zone. Within the different zones a different protection regime applies. Where the water extraction area is subject to the strictest regime, descending to the drilling-free zone where the least stringent regime applies. The province is the competent authority to grant exemptions for working in the protection zones. For publication we use the GIS service of the Province of North Brabant.
