Microbial communities in High Arctic lakes

The study describes the microbial communities from four High Arctic lakes of Ellesmere Island (Stuckberry Valley, Nunavut, Canada). Their location and morphological differences make them ideal sites to study the effects of climate change on microbial ecology. We performed deep sequencing of the V4 region of 16S rRNA on samples collected at several depths in the water column (triplicate) to provide inter- and intra-lake comparisons.
