This data set was during Kilo Moana expedition KM0417 conducted in 2004 (Chief Scientist: Dr. Charles Langmuir; Investigator(s): Dr. Andreas Thurnherr). The speed is calculated between the surface fix corresponding to the lon/lat information and the previous valid surface fix.
