资源简介:
"On 28 June-3 July 2007, Brockington and Associates, Inc., conducted a cultural resources survey of the Bear Bones Tract in Horry County, South Carolina. These investigations were completed for Waccamaw Land & Timber Company of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. We investigated this tract for the presence of historic properties (sites, buildings, objects, or districts listed on or eligible for the National Register of Historic Places). This survey was requested in compliance with state laws and federal regulations concerning the management of historic properties affected by development activities in the Coastal Zone of South Carolina. The cultural resources survey included a review of land ownership and use recorded in public documents, a review of previous investigations near the tract, and the excavation of shovel tests at 30-meter intervals across approximately 66 upland acres of the tract that warranted intensive survey (high probability for cultural resources). This acreage is divided between two survey areas in the eastern portion of the tract. No standing structures are present within or adjacent to the project tract. We identified two archaeological sites (38HR569 and 38HR570) during the cultural resources survey of the Bear Bones Tract. Both sites are small Pre-Contact ceramic scatters. We recommend sites 38HR569 and 38HR570 not eligible for the NRHP. No further management of these cultural resources is recommended. Development of the Bear Bones Tract will not affect any historic properties."
