资源简介:
Aging is characterized by a decline in stem cell function, and the potential for replenishing these cells to combat aging is not well understood. Our study addresses this gap by creating seno-resistant human mesenchymal progenitor cells (SRCs), which are genetically enhanced to promote cellular resilience. In a 44-week study, we administered SRCs intravenously to aged macaques and observed reductions in signs of aging across 22 tissue types. Improvements included decreased disorganization and dysfunction in tissues, reduced cellular senescence, and lower molecular aging markers, with no observed negative side effects. Notably, SRC therapy improved brain structure and cognitive performance while slowing the deterioration of the reproductive system.
