The data obtained from this study would give us a clearer picture of the genetic makeupof multidrug-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, MRSA and MSSA from goats in Malaysia, particularly the state of Terengganu. This would enable veterinary departmentmanagement and department of agriculture administrators to better understand the extent of antibioticresistance in S. aureus and thus develop appropriate guidelines and policies to manage andovercome the spread of this deadly pathogen in our local hospitals.
