Access Data in Excel

**Overview**
Exponam Analyst Intelligence easily brings Databricks marketplace and enterprise data directly into Excel for end users of all technical ability. Import via Natural Language "talk to my data," no-code visual builder, or direct SQL query.

Additionally, with Exponam, users can execute Databricks ML Models directly in Excel without any code or Databricks knowledge.

**Product details**
The Exponam Analyst Intelligence Excel Add-in is a simple tool for business (non-technical) users to access Databricks Delta Lake and Marketplace data directly in Excel without any technical configuration or setup beyond the scope of ordinary Excel and business-focused users. If a user can create a column filter in Excel, they can comfortably interact with billions of rows of data. They can work with millions of rows in Excel (spread over multiple sheets, subject to machine limitations).

- Three distict access paths: Natural Language AI "talk to my data" - use LLMs locally on your workstation, or BYO LLM; Direct SQL query with multiple shared scratch-pads for sharing organization-approved queries; a visual builder fetching data via Delta Sharing for zero compute; $0 DBU access data.

- Users are guided to add their connection information for Databricks or Delta Share server(s). Connection information is retained for easy re-use every time the application is opened.
- Familiar tool symbols and buttons guide them through filtering data, including or excluding columns, and saving filtered views.
- Users import data and extensive meta-data to the worksheet(s) of their choosing.
- Users may elect to save data directly to a file for sharing, storing and distribution.

**Licensed and unlicensed use**
The Exponam.Connect Add-in can be used immediately after installation without any registration or licensing. Unlicensed use is subject to 1 million row limitations.

**Installation**
- Prerequisite: Excel must be installed
- Download and Install Excel Add-in:
- FOR WINDOWS: Install Exponam.Connect via our publicly available click-once installer. https://www.exponam.com/install
- FOR MAC: Install Exponam.Connect: Add license key by clicking the License button and pasting provided key **Mac access is Delta Sharing only at this time. NL and direct query coming soon.

**Configure Data Access**
- Configure your Databricks access for NL or direct query; or configure Delta Sharing for free consumption.

**Configure ML Model Execution**
- (Note) Model Execution is a premium feature which requires a paid or trial license

- Follow the instructions in the UI to run your model
