An Experimental Study on Boiling Crises with Water in the Pressure Range 15.5 – 21.0 MPa: Measurement Dataset

The dataset contains measurement data from 176 experiments on boiling crisis conducted in the pressure range of 15.5 MPa to 21.0 MPa. Each experiment captures the critical heat flux and provides measurement data for the evaluation of heat transfer along the entire test section. Depending on the location of the boiling crisis along the test section, the heat transfer in the post-CHF regime can be analyzed. All published data were obtained using the HIPER test section at the Chair of Energy Systems of the Technical University of Munich. The test section has a total length of 7.100 mm and is subdivided into 70 measurement segments. For each segment, the local values of the test section inner wall temperature, bulk fluid temperature, pressure, bulk enthalpy, vapor quality, and heat flux are listed. In addition, the global measured values of the inlet temperature and mass flux as well as the corresponding measurement uncertainty and measurement deviation are provided.
