A de novo assembly for Telmatactis stephensoni was created to enable sea anemone genomics research. This species is highly venomous and contains novel toxins which may serve as potential medicinal candidates for a variety of human diseases. Sea anemone toxins are known for their rapid evolution and, hence, surveying anemones from various ecological niches and of varying "toxicity" may provide unanticipated insights.
