LiaR Independent Mechanisms of Daptomycin Resistance in Enterococcus faecalis. Enterococcus faecalis

Daptomycin is an important antibiotic used to treat multi-drug resistant enterococcal infections. The LiaFSR pathway is a major contributor to the cell membrane stress response and has been implicated in daptomycin non-susceptibility. The aim of this project was to identify LiaFSR independent pathways to daptomycin resistance using whole genome sequencing of strains lacking the liaR gene adapted to daptomycin in vitro.
