Microbial Communities of Velvet Worms (Euperipatoides rowelli) in Australian Forest Refugia

This project characterises the gut microbiome of the velvet worm (Euperipatoides rowelli), a saproxyluc invertebrate from southeastern Australia forest refugia. Using 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing, we examined microbial diversity across multiple deadwood microhabitats to explore how environment influences gut microbial communities. This data set provides the first microbiome profile for velvet worms and contributes to understanding host-microbe interactions in forest ecosystems.
