Herbario VIT – Mycotheca (Museum of Natural History of Álava) – Basque Nature Information System

Vit Herbario-Mycotheca contains ca. 17.700 leaves belonging to 1,700 taxa. It started in 1972. Approximately half of this collection (Generalmicotheque) was assembled by a large group of collectors integrated into the association Grupo Micológico 111 (Antonio Esteban, Luis Manso, Xabier de Olano, Vivencio Martínez Irigoyen, José Luis García Alija, Isabel Salcedo, Fernando Valluerca, Conrado Albandoz, Esther Abad, Eduardo Benguría and Luis Mª Iriarte). Other outstanding collectors are Germán Bastida, Paulino Elorza and Daniel Apilánez. The other half of the collection is the personal collection of Luis Manso (Micotheca Luis Manso), donated to the Museum of Natural Sciences of Álava.
