IOTC Reporting Forms for Fisheries Statistics

This deposit provides the current versions of all reporting forms required under the framework of the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission (IOTC). The forms standardise the submission of fisheries statistics and related information by Contracting Parties and Cooperating Non-Contracting Parties (CPCs), and they may also be used by non-CPCs fishing for tuna and tuna-like species in the IOTC Area of Competence. The forms cover a range of mandatory datasets, including landings, discards, geo-referenced effort and catches, geo-referenced size frequencies, activities related to anchored and drifting Fish Aggregating Devices (FADs), buoy positions used in large-scale purse seine fisheries, fishing craft statistics, and time series of fish prices. The content and structure of each dataset are described in the IOTC Data Reporting Guidelines. The forms are maintained and periodically updated by the IOTC Secretariat to ensure consistency with adopted Resolutions and data standards. They support CPCs in fulfilling their reporting obligations, facilitate data processing and validation, and contribute to the scientific and compliance work of the Commission.
