Characterizing the Genomic Stability of Salmonella enterica serovar Cerro on a Wisconsin Dairy Farm.

A total of 32 Salmonella enterica serotype Cerro isolates were isolated from healthy adult lactating dairy cattle from a single farm in Wisconsin, USA via direct fecal grab over the course of a year between March 2022 and February 2023. Whole genome sequencing was performed on all 32 isolates using paired-end short-read (2x150bp) Illumina sequencing. The goals of the study were to characterize the Cerro genome on this farm as well as assess the genomic stability of the serovar over a one-year period.
