LiDAR point cloud for Northampton and Accomack Co., VA 2010

This dataset contains LiDAR data for Northampton and Accomack Counties on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. It was created using LiDAR by Sanborn Geosystems under a contract with the Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) with funding from The Nature Conservancy, USGS and the Virginia Coast Reserve Long-term Ecological Research project of the University of Virginia. The LiDAR data is stored in .LAS files with 4 returns per point. Spacing between points is approximately 1 meter. Returns are classified as to whether they are water or land. Each LAS file represents an area 5,000x5,000 feet. A tile index to aid in the identification of which LAS files are needed for a site are also included. The data are is in the State Plane coordinate system (U.S. Feet) and uses the NAVD88 vertical datum with the 2009 Geoid for elevation in feet.
