My research focussed on Synthesizing and characterizing novel structurally different polymeric backbones as Anionic exchange membranes (AEMs) for electrochemical applications. This thesis examined the AEMs to establish an optimal cell performance with high alkaline and thermal stability. This research catered successfully to the trade-off between mechanical stability whilst maintaining high hydroxide conductivity which has been a nemesis for creating robust AEMs.
