Social Development and Social Inequality in Denmark, 1985

The project forms part of a major international comparative project, which has been carried out in a number of Western European countries, among these the Nordic countries, since 1978 (DDA-1587: Comparative Project on Class Structure and Class Consciousness). # The purposes of the project are: 1) to make a comparison of class structure on the basis of similar national surveys; 2) to make a comparison of social inequality; and 3) to make a comparison of the political attitudes of various social classes and other social groups. # As an offshoot of the project a special common Nordic project has been established. This project analyses the following issues: social mobility, political attitudes and political behaviour of public employees, the problems concerning sex, class and family, and the special position of women in the class structure. # The project consists of a survey part comprising a representative sample of the population and of a series of case studies concerning public places of work
