All Seniors;innentreffs and Senior:inner circles share the common goal of promoting contacts between people. Social contacts are more important than ever after the exit from employment, the departure of the children, even the loss of a partner. For example, in the circle of like-minded people in the district seniors:innentreffs or in senior:inner circles and groups. Topic 1:Senior:internal meetings Description text Senior:innentreffs: Senior:internal meetings are informal meeting places that are open to all Hamburg-based seniors free of charge. In addition to entertainment and conviviality, there are cultural, leisure and further education and sports activities. Counselling services for all aspects of seniors: women often complement the program. Cross-generational and intercultural services also enrich some seniors:interior meetings and establish the social contact between old and young. There are a total of 81 senior meetings in Hamburg. The facilities are usually open five times a week for four hours each. They are sponsored by various non-profit institutions located in all Hamburg districts. The facilities are available to all interested seniors with their low-threshold and free offers. There is also the possibility of volunteering in one of the numerous institutions of this kind. Most seniors also have digital devices, internet access and digital training. Here, visitors can, for example, obtain information on the Internet or send e-mails or simply “chat” via social media channels and find new acquaintances in interest groups or maintain old ones. Theme 2: Senior:inner circles and groups Text about Senior:inner circles and seniors:inside groups In senior:inner circles and groups there are people in a fixed group with an average of 15 participants in a district. They meet regularly, usually weekly and receive a flat rate from the respective district office for material costs, ongoing operation and premises. Interested seniors who wish to open a Senior:innengruppe can submit applications to the respective district office via the institutions. The respective amount of the funding amounts shall be communicated to the applicants by the relevant district office. Senior Demographic Change Unit: The department deals with key issues relating to the further development of Hamburg as a city in which older people can live independently and actively for as long as possible. Demographic change is seen as an opportunity for a city for all ages and supports a coexistence of generations.
