A daily terrestrial-AIS census of 15 United States port complexes, 2015-2025

Erratum (2026-08-14). Line 5 of the deposited README.md gives this record's DOI as 10.5281/zenodo.21653033. That is the DOI of version 1.0.0; the correct version DOI for this record is 10.5281/zenodo.21936231. The concept DOI shown on the same line, 10.5281/zenodo.21653032, is correct. Zenodo files are immutable after publication, so the file itself cannot be corrected without minting a further DOI; this note is the correction. Relationship to version 1.0.0. The data files in this version are byte-identical to those in 1.0.0. Version 1.1.0 changes only two artifacts: README.md, whose reproduction commands in 1.0.0 read --paper 1 (the verifier accepts A, B, C, D or all) and which cited the superseded five-port DOI 10.5281/zenodo.21203605 instead of 10.5281/zenodo.21820262; and code_and_protocols.zip, which in 1.0.0 contained src/process_ais only and now contains the complete pipeline. Either version reproduces every published number. An auditable every-day terrestrial Automatic Identification System census of 15 spatially assignable United States port complexes from 1 January 2015 through 31 December 2025. The release contains 463,113,836 retained position reports from 23,392 MMSIs in 4,018 daily parquet partitions, an append-only ingestion ledger, frozen spatial definitions, a 1,980-row complex-month activity panel, and a NOAA-derived vessel-characteristics table. Ship-days and 24-hour gap-defined call starts are algorithmic activity products; berth, anchor, waiting, emissions, exposure, and policy effects are not validated by this dataset.
