Content Figures_SSEcatalog.fig contains two files: SSEnum_**.fig: Figure of east component GPS time series showing start and end time of each SSE, labelled by event number. SSEnum_**_map.fig: Figure showing location of GPS stations that detected a given SSE, labelled by event number. files_SSEcatalog.zip contains three files: SSEcatalog.mat: Structure containing the start and end times of all SSEs identified and the stations that detected each event. StationID.mat: Structure containing the start and end time of all SSEs identified at the StationID. SSEcatalog_simplified_refmodel.Rda: R-data frame containing the simplified SSE catalog information shown in Figure 2a. Note that start and end times of SSEs are given as dates (i.e., yyyy-mm-dd) without including time. waveletDetail_R1.zip: Contains the stacked wavelet details for R1, as in Figures S2 to S4. waveletDetail_R2.zip: Contains the stacked wavelet details for R2, as in Figures S5 to S7. Scripts.zip contains 13 scripts: denslines.R: Function used to plot posterior distributions. fit_renewal_process_case1.R: R-script to model SSE occurrence as a marked renewal process for Case 1. fit_renewal_process_case2.R: R-script to model SSE occurrence as a marked renewal process for Case 2. plot_posterior_distributions.R: R-script used to plot posterior distributions obtained from model results (Figure 3). ovlp.chain.R: Function that calculates the overlap between posterior distributions. hpd.interval.R: Function that calculates the highest posterior density (HPD) interval for each model parameter. forecast_after_Kaikoura.R: R-script to forecast SSE occurrence time after Kaikoura (Figure S12). plot_wavelet_details.m: Script to plot the wavelet details from Figures S2 to S7. residual_analysis.R: R-script to carry out the residual analysis shown in Figures S10 and S11. waic.R: Script to calculate the Watanabe-Akaike Information Criterion. get_tocc_Kaik.R: Function used to get occurrence time of SSEs after Kaikoura. get_tocc.R: Function used to get ocurrence time of SSEs.
