Somatic growth is one of the most important traits in aquaculture and epigenetic mechanisms are likely involved in its regulation. DNA hydroxymethylation has been identified as a stable epigenetic modification with tissue-specific profiles. To better understand the impact of DNA hydroxymethylation within the somatotropic axis, we profiled and compared the liver, muscle and pituitary DNA hydroxymethylome of five full-sib male Nile tilapias.
