Data set and R script for the paper: Comparative brain morphology of cleaning and sponge-dwelling Elacatinus gobies
收藏资源简介:
Our study focused on adult individuals of the three species of Elacatinus that occur in the coral reefs of Barbados: Elacatinus prochilos (facultative cleaners), Elacatinus evelynae (obligatory cleaners), and Elacatinus chancei (sponge-dwellers). We conducted comparative analyses of the volume of different brain nuclei and areas aiming at determining how differences in habitat use and behavior across species might affect brain morphology. For more details on the study and how the data was obtained please see the paper listed on related materials. Here we provide two datasets and one R script. The first data set (brain_absolute_measurements_and_other_info.csv) provides ecological, morphological, and behavioral information for each specimen combined with absolute measurements of each specimen's brain and brain parts. The second dataset (brain_ratios.csv) provides the brain ratios (part volume/brain volume) that were used in the VRT, PCA, and Anova analyses. R script provides the code for the PCA and Anova analyses. For metadata please look at the Readme_metadata file.
